Distance education

Western Caspian University implements distance learning programs and regularly organizes trainings with the participation of foreign experts. Training  courses provide information about a specially created platform and the methods and technologies used in remote education. These trainings implement international experience in distant education and opportunities to participate in this successful education system. For example, in 2016/2017, trainings on distance learning in the field of engineering were conducted for Western Caspian University staff organized by distance learning expert Anris Cirulis PhD, Vidzeme University.

What is the distance education?

Distance education is an opportunity to get education at any distance (at home, at work, at  educational centers) without direct contact with the teacher. It's the modern universal form of professional education based on the specialty and personal needs introduced with Internet Technology. At the same time, it allows the trainees to increase their professional level in accordance with  personal characteristics. In this educational process, a student studies interactive teaching-learning materials for a certain period of time. By means of the Internet and other communication resources, a student performs checks under the guidance of teachers and passes the test.

Urgency of distance education

One of the fastest growing forms of distance education, existing Web server and software capabilities make it possible to create interactive programs for learning through the global network. Distant education, based on Internet technology, expands its capabilities and is regarded as a perspective educational system that reflects the synthesis of the international Internet network and the television, employing specific teaching technologies. This new form of education allows for the intensification of knowledge sharing for a wide range of potential learning, but also creates a market environment for education among consumers of new knowledge and technology.
