Tourism guiding students identify national and international cultural elements associated with guiding service. Acquires knowledge about tourism sector and tourism marketing, travel agency and tour operator. Acquires knowledge about the history, geography and touristic places of Azerbaijan. Acquires knowledge of basic economic concepts and the importance of tourism income and expenditure in terms of the country's economy. He/she uses a foreign language at some level to get information about the organization of the congress, fair, meeting, to be able to follow the requirements at a professional level and to fulfill the requests. Possesses effective expression and organizational skills. He/she can use the computer to correspond, store information, use stored information, run computer package programs. He/she has high persuasiveness, can think critically, create alternative solutions and analyze data. Follows projects and events. He/she can transfer knowledge and skills acquired in Tourism, Hotel and Travel Services through written and oral communication.
Knowledge and skills which will be acquired:
· Ability to use information technologies at work;
· Ability to understand the international and local dimensions of management in tourism enterprises, to analyze the internal and external environment of the enterprise;
· Ability to use information and communication technologies and programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, Photoshop, SPSS, Stata, Python, etc.) in accordance with the requirements of the tourism sector;
· Ability to analyze and evaluate Azerbaijan's strategic development goals and priorities in the field of tourism;
· Ability to understand, compare and interpret current and potential trends in international tourism markets.
