Western Caspian University committed to contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals respecting the dignity of our campus community members, prioritizing independence, full integration of all people and ensuring that everyone has access to equal opportunities.
We as a university consider this Sustainable Development Goal as our core principle within and beyond the University for our students and staff, and also for society in general as regards our social responsibility toward the community.
Reducing discrimination and inequality is one of the most important goals of Western Caspian University.
Human Rights Office (HRO) was established to be university´s central resource for information and services related to Human Rights, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion. HRO supports the maintenance of an inclusive equal and accessible educational environment free from discrimination and sexual violence by realizing and promoting understanding and respect for the dignity of the University community.
The vision of the Human Rights Office is a university where the dignity and worth of every person is respected, where people feel comfortable and safe, and where people have the opportunity to participate fully in our community.
The Human Rights Office deals with the following issues:
Implementation and control of Western Caspian University's policies and programs in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals on Equality, Inclusion, Diversity and Human Rights:
Discrimination;
Harassment based on a protected ground (such as race or sexual - based harassment)
We also provide training, resources and tools to heighten awareness on these issues
