Overarching aim
According to the decision of the Western Caspian University Scientific Council on Renewable Energy Policy the university aims to reduce carbon emissions while supporting growth plans in research activities, staff and student numbers.

Reduction of carbon dioxide emissions
Insulation of roofs and facades at the buildings.
To increase the number of LED lamps; (application of daylight sensitive systems)
To use double-paned windows at the buildings.
Carrying out regular cleaning works within and outside educational buildings

Priority is given to reducing physical meetings and more online meetings.
Organization of public seminars promoting behavioral change to support energy efficiency
University benefits from internal heating thanks to the Climate Conditions (reduction of Gas consumption due to climatic conditions)
Conducting scientific research to use renewable, affordable, and clean energy: Environmental Research Centre at Western Caspian University oversees research and educational activities in the environmental sphere.
Implementation of drip irrigation systems in university gardens and green areas
Use of gray wastewater for irrigation of university parks and green areas
