International Forum with the participation of prestigious universities around the world
An international event on "Education Transformation" hosted by the Western Caspian University will be held on June 14, 2021 in partnership with Times Higher Education and the Western Caspian University.
The forum will also focus on the role of universities in the UN's work for the Sustainable Development Goals. Representatives of more than a thousand foreign universities are expected to attend the forum.
The pandemic exposed global inequalities and disrupted the education system, while also creating an opportunity to organize the education system better and envision a new era for teaching and pedagogy.
This important forum will focus on the role of universities in achieving the goal of Quality Education, one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in quality education, and explore the following objectives:
- Commitment of universities to improve access to education;
- Creation of inclusive education models;
- To acquire lifelong learning habits;
- A new period for short-term courses and certificates;
- Will education be based on experience in the future?
- The role of partnership in achieving the goal of quality education.
Speakers at the event included David Atchoatena, Director of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, Tia Loukkola, Director of the Institutional Development Department of the European University Association, Dawn Freshwater, Vice-Rector of the University of Auckland and Eva Wiberg, Vice-Rector of the University of Gothenburg. The event will also be addressed by the founder of the Western Caspian University, Professor Huseyn Bagirov, Members of Parliament Shahin Seyidzade and Parvin Karimzade, the rector of the Western Caspian University Andris Leitas, the vice-rector of ADA University Fariz Ismayilzade.
