Ph.D. students participate in various scientific conferences and symposiums to exchange research results. Besides the theoretical and methodological basis of the thesis, Ph.D. students possess expert knowledge in modern standards that enables them to understand the contributions of others to science and to freely conduct independent scientific work at an advanced stage. Ph.D. students receive personalized trainings for research projects.

The Ph.D. programme is completed with the presentation and justification of the dissertation. This activity provides researchers with the chance to strengthen their knowledge of economics and to demonstrate their skills by using advanced methods and tools. Purpose of the programme

:

  • Cultivating highly qualified linguists dealing with methodological and practical issues in synchronic and diachronic linguistics
  • Developing the current structure of research/teaching groups at WCU and providing opportunities for existing in-service training courses
  • Strengthening research procedures using simultaneous and diachronic methods

The Ph.D. programme in Germanic Languages provides a high level of knowledge related to the research and analysis of Germanic languages and literature while strengthening research procedures by using synchronous and diachronic methods. Moreover, the programme provides a general theory of literature, special skills and in-depth knowledge on the chosen Germanic language. Students receive personalised training for research projects. Research activities begin early in the programme in order to publish articles in high-end scientific journals, and for students to participate in science conferences and symposiums to share research findings.

Purpose of the programme:

  • Education and preperation of highly qualified experts who can deal with methodological and practical issues on world literature
  • Developing the current structure of research/teaching groups and presenting opportunities to current teachers to enhance their qualifications.

The Ph.D. in World Literature provides a high level of institutional knowledge to produce highly qualified specialists who can conduct research in their fields. Students are able to analyse selected international literature and to further develop research procedures by using synchronous and diachronic methods. They also have a common theory of literature, special skills and in-depth knowledge of their chosen fields. They are ready to work at universities and colleges due to the expertise gained by pursuing and refining their skills and capabilities.
