Currently, reducing poverty is a global issue of the international community. Earlier, poverty had been measured by the income level of population and food supply, now this concept has a broader meaning.  Today, poverty reduction, accessing to productive resources and health care (including land and water), maintaining employment, education, equal rights for men and women at all levels, providing infrastructure and utilities, compensation, and improving sanitary and hygienic conditions, as well as the environment imply ensuring decent living conditions for human beings. Our University successfully measures by steps. Regular training, seminars and improvement forums are organized by the University in order to increase knowledge and skills of different population groups.

  • Supporting grant projects through start-ups of the University is one of our priorities. Grants are announced by Technopark which organizes in the University and those grants are open to the public;
  • The period we live in is characterized by scientific and technological development. This requires to get knowledge of different population groups. To keep up with the times, Wester Caspian University offers courses, training, seminars, etc. for representatives of different population groups and aims to make such events regularly. The training will support unemployed women in regions to start their own business.
  • Through our University, people will gain new knowledge and skills about the use of electronic libraries, the elimination of environmental problems, nature protection and the development of new technical equipment – robots through new computer software courses.
  • Students deprived of parental care admitted to the University receive free education in accordance with the legislation of the Republic. At the same time, students with good grades receive monthly stipends and this helps to improve social conditions.
  • WCU assists students who are about to graduate and whose families are poor to provide with extracurricular jobs.
  • Students deprived of parental care are provided with jobs at the University and it is planned to continue with different mentorship programs.
  • Our University pays attention to life activities of poor students. Currently, in the University’s plan, there are different projects to eliminate social problems of poor students. The University offers the discounts on meals in its canteens.
