INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC SYMPOSIUM: ""Representation of the Caucasus, the Caspian Sea and the Safavid State in Sources (from the Medieval to Early Modern Times)
Travelers and chroniclers have long been drawn to the geography, people, customs, and political developments of the states surrounding the Caspian Sea, particularly Azerbaijan.
The international academic symposium organized by the Western Caspian University on May 16, 2024 under the title "Representation of the Caucasus, the Caspian Sea and the Safavid State in Sources (from the Medieval to Early Modern Times)" will bring together local and foreign historical scholars, as well as young researchers. Another goal of the symposium is to familiarize young researchers with new methods by applying an interdisciplinary approach to the historical and cultural past of the region by the professional and experienced experts.
Prominent scholars from several nations will take part in the global academic symposium with historians and trainee researchers from ANAS and various local universities. They represent Oxford University of Great Britain, Tulane University of USA, Tokyo University of Foreign Affairs, Tbilisi State University named after Javakhishvili, as well as various universities of Ukraine, Italy and Hungary.
Local and foreign researchers are expected to present presentations on various topics of the Middle Ages and the early modern period at the symposium.
