Conference: Self-reliance
An international scientific conference on ‘Actual Problems of the Process of National Self-reliance and Self-assertion of Peoples in the Modern World" will be held on 1st & 2nd June 2017 at Western University.
Representatives and scientific researchers of more than 10 countries- USA, UK, Russia, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, have arrived in Baku. The conference is accompanied by a rich cultural programme, foreign guests will visit sites reflecting the historical and cultural heritage of Azerbaijan and participate in various events.
A meeting with the conference participants was held at the West University today. Rector, Professor Andris Leitas welcomed the guests, outlined the programme of the conference and emphasised its importance. The guests were introduced to Baku, Icherisheher, Shirvanshahs Palace and Azerbaijan Carpet Museum, Heydar Aliyev Centre and Azerbaijan History Museum.
Foreign researchers are very interested in the information about Azerbaijan's ancient heritage and said they would share the information they collected in their countries.
The conference will focus on strengthening political, economic, cultural cooperation, national self-determination and self-determination of peoples, ethnic conflicts in the South Caucasus and their impact on the national state-building process, as well as major threats to international economic and cultural integration. Lectures and discussions will be held.
