Western Caspian University will join Fsc MER 2023 Programme as a Partner
The Grassroots Institute and Western Caspian University signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which will result in, Western Caspian University joining the FSc MER 2023 programme as a Partner.
The international training programme organised by The Grassroots Institute of Canada examines mountain ecosystems in the context of human development and natural resources and their sustainable management. Depicting case studies from a wide range of natural resources available in different parts of the world, the programme considers how different social, political, economic, cultural and gender aspects compete for and maintain natural resources in mountain ecosystems. It also examines how environmental activists and their interventions protect parks, energy, water and land in the face of climate change from a gender perspective.
The programme aims to equip researchers, students, practitioners and teachers who want to learn about mountain ecosystems and sustainable development with the practical approaches, knowledge and skills necessary to solve the challenges of sustainable use of natural resources on a global scale. This international training programme will be implemented in partnership with various academic and practice- oriented organisations.
The international programme, FSc MER, will be presented in English, taking into account the profile of participants joining from different countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and Oceania. The programme is designed to address contemporary topics of mountain ecology, sustainable development and traditional human niche during ten days of training by highly qualified teachers, trainers and practitioners from European, Asian and North American countries.
