Students of Western Caspian University undergo internship at the Scientific Research Institute

The 4th year students of Western Caspian University, studying biology, have successfully completed the first stage of the planned industrial internship at the Scientific Research Institute of Vegetable Growing since February 2025. During the internship, the students were actively involved in scientific research conducted in various departments and laboratories of the institute – Agro Biotechnology, Selection and Seed Production, Functional Analyses, Greenhouse Vegetable Growing and other sections. They gained practical knowledge and skills in areas such as vegetable plant selection, seed technologies, genetic analysis methods, in vitro culture creation, and greenhouse cultivation techniques. During the internship, the students also gained significant experience in planning and conducting scientific experiments, applying laboratory analysis methods, evaluating agro biological indicators, and using modern scientific equipment. At the end of the internship, the students shared their impressions and emphasized that the professional environment of the institute and the real practical experience they gained further enriched their academic knowledge. The students also noted that the knowledge they gained in the field of modern biotechnology and selection would be of great support to them in their future career plans. The management of the Vegetable Research Institute also particularly appreciated the students' activity, scientific interest, and high sense of responsibility, and appreciated the results they achieved in a short term. Representatives of the institute stated that continuing such cooperation in the future would be beneficial for both parties. It is important to highlight that industrial experience is an important component of the educational strategy aimed at developing students' skills in applying theoretical knowledge in a real environment.
