Scientific Conference @ WCU
Western Caspian University hosted a student scientific-practical republican conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of National Leader and Founder of the independent Azerbaijan state Heydar Aliyev. Lectures were delivered on Heydar Aliyev’s heritage and contemporary philosophy of Azerbaijan, internal and foreign policy, national-moral values, energy strategy, science, education, culture and other topics.
Students from higher education institutions such as BSU, ADPU, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Baku Slavic University, Sumgayit State University, Ganja State University, etc. also participated in the event.
Rector, Andris Leitas, mentioned that the great leader is a well-known politician throughout the world for his significant role in the destiny of Azerbaijan and the region: “I am from Latvia, a country 3000km far from Azerbaijan. It should be noted that in our country, Heydar Aliyev is known and respected. Today, Azerbaijan is a country with a high level of development. This progress is also the result of the services of a genius politician”.
The rector briefed participants about the activities at WCU, stressing that this educational institution is stepping up with independent Azerbaijan and has made significant achievements in enriching the educational achievements of our country during these years, contributing to the education of educated, intellectual, national and spiritual values and at the same time a tolerant young generation.
He added, “Today, we are improving our teaching programmes in collaboration with the world's leading universities. At the same time, steps are being taken to strengthen the infrastructure, material and technical basis of the university. The School of High Technical & Innovative Engineering and The Technopark for practical work, have been established for professional engineering training. Last year, the number of applicants at our university increased six-fold. We do everything we can to ensure the healthy future of Azerbaijan, and our young people, which is in line with the ideas of the great politician Heydar Aliyev”.
Other participants included Deputy Director of the Institute of History Professor Jabi Bahramun, Honorary Professor WCU Fikret Sadikhov, Head of the Department of Social Sciences, Associate Professor Aga Miralamin and others.
Reports emphasised that the great leader will live forever in the history of Azerbaijan as the founder of Azerbaijan's political system and Azerbaijani ideology. The current political development strategy of the national leader is based on the present development of Azerbaijan and its achievements in all spheres. Later, a film dedicated to the life and activity of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was played. The conference continued its work in sessions.
