New approaches to the development of the agro-tourism sector

The article “The role of agro-tourism in the development of regions” by Associate Professor Gunay Gasimova, an employee of the Department of Science and Innovations of Western Caspian University indexed in the Scopus database.

Agro-tourism is a type of sustainable tourism created by the combination of agriculture and tourism. This sector transforms rural areas into tourist destinations and offers visitors agricultural experiences.

Our researcher investigated the high employment potential of this sector, the importance of developing training and local cooperation support models for this sector to strengthen job opportunities in fields such as farm workers, guides, chefs and artisans and the development of skills and training of the local population, and has made suggestions about these.

Such trainings will contribute to the economy by opening new markets for local farmers and small businesses in agro-tourism in the future. This sector will play an important role in the future tourism sector with sustainable employment models and local cooperation.
