Conference at Faculty of Philology & Translation

Western Caspian University held a conference on ‘Modern Problems of Translation’. The conference, which was organised by the Department of Translation, was attended by researchers from several of Azerbaijan’s leading universities.

Participants of the conference discussed problems of, and approaches to, the translation of academic works, of literature and the media, and the challenges translators face when translating works from different cultures in our modern world. They also emphasised the role of our State in supporting the translation of works from different periods of world literature into Azerbaijani.

Western Caspian University has already started a translation project with the title ‘101 books’. In the context of the project, some of the most significant works of world literature, academic works and textbooks written in foreign languages are translated into Azerbaijani.
