Web Conference: Improving Web Education
The negative impact of the worldwide and life-threatening coronavirus pandemic on all areas of human activity, and not least on the scientific and educational process is obvious. Various alternative ways are being developed to solve the global problem. The cessation of the educational process and special quarantine measures limit the implementation of education plans. However, online and distance learning programmes are an opportunity for the younger generation to stay out of school.
High-level work is being carried out in this direction in our country: the virtual school programme of the Ministry of Education, holding classes on secondary education programmes on state television, TV lectures, etc. While not mandatory in higher education, university faculty are working tirelessly to reduce the negative impact of the global problem on education by offering online classes, offline course materials and student assistance.
In such situation problems naturally arise. There are problems with the quality of web lessons, the quality of new web teaching methods being applied in our country, and problems discussing experience gained and sharing new ideas and proposals. To help address these concerns and to provide a platform for discussion, a Web-Based conference will be held at WCU entitled ‘Methods of Improving the Quality of Web Education’.
The conference will cover methods of distance learning of various subjects, techniques of conducting web seminars, virtual use of laboratories, psychological condition and health indicators of students and teachers, the role of the electronic library in the current isolation, etc. Selected reports will be presented to shed light and promote discussion.
The conference will take place on April 10 via Skype (wcuonline@outlook.com).
Participants will get a certificate and the best reports will be published in the WCU journal ‘Scientific News’. Lectures at the conference will be in Azerbaijani, Russian, English and Turkish (presentation time is 10-15 minutes).
Those who want to participate can submit the titles of their reports to science@wcu.edu.az until April 5.
