Safar Hasan oglu Purhani was born on August 15, 1957, in Ganja (formerly Kirovabad), Azerbaijan. In 1974, he was admitted to the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry named after M. Azizbayov, majoring in "Automated Control Systems," and successfully graduated in 1979. In 1980, he was admitted to the postgraduate program of the same institute, which he completed in 1984.
He holds a Doctor of Economic Sciences degree and is a professor. He is the author of more than 100 scientific articles, two monographs, a two-volume Explanatory Dictionary of Economic Terms, a concise version of the same dictionary, two textbooks, four teaching manuals, over 30 methodological guides, and around 40 course syllabi.
He has been honored with Certificates of Honor from the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan (1986, 2000), a commendation and monetary award from the Ministry of Education of the USSR (1987), and the “Distinguished Education Worker” badge of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2022).
He currently serves as the Head of the Department of Tourism and Sectoral Economics at Western Caspian University.
