Conference: Centre for Applied Political Science

On December 7th, various lectures were delivered at the conference organised by the Centre for Applied Political Science at Western Caspian University. 

After a presentation by JV Tural Belazade of the School of Political & Social Sciences on the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Parliament, WCU students Kenan Pashayev, Narmin Hajizadeh, Sevinj Alizade, Ofelya Mustafazadeh and Zemfira Manafova also made presentations on the main events in the region and around the world.

Elkhan Sahinoglu of the Centre for Applied Policy reported “Our main topics included: the possibility of the parliamentary elections in Armenia and its consequences on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict; the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on the background of the latest insecurity in the Azov Sea; the latest situation in Syria and the steps taken in Idlib; US sanctions against Iran and its influence on the countries of the region.”

He went on to express gratitude for the speakers’ interesting speeches. There deep discussions around the reports, interesting questions were voiced. A decision was made to publish the presentations on various websites.

Students are becoming more and more fertile, and female students are learning to give away their sense of shyness and to answer questions.

Special thanks were given to Farid Mammadov, who as a student was active in organising the day’s event. Farid, who initiated the conference, also carried out a substantial part of the creative and technical work of the conference, continuing the tradition. 

All guest presenters were given copies of various relevant books.

At the end of December, there will be a traditional meeting on Karabakh titled: ‘The results of the year’.

Work on the text of the final report continues with plans to invite media representatives to the event.
