Web Conference: Methods of Improving Web Teaching
Western Caspian University hosted a web conference on “Methods of Improving the Quality of Web Teaching’. Welcoming participants, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Huseyn Baghirov stated that the coronavirus pandemic has created new challenges in all areas, as well as the need for new approaches and technologies in education.
The conference featured speeches by teachers and specialists from WCU, as well as researchers from universities in Turkey and Georgia.
Presentations included the history of development of online lessons, most commonly used teaching systems and methods, computer programs and web platforms used in online lessons, the advantages of linear and nonlinear interactive methods in online teaching, organisation of distance exams: advantages and disadvantages, virtual and live lessons: quality management, methods of applying web teaching in subjects of translation, online education: transformation of global needs or the challenges of a new era, advantages and disadvantages of distance education in different fields, and the main issues in virtual lessons were also discussed.
Afterwards, views were exchange on the topic and the speakers answered questions.
This conference provided an opportunity to consider the prospects and problems in this area, as well as to identify steps to be taken in the face of new challenges, and to work more purposefully in this direction.
The conference was broadcast live on the university’s YouTube channel.
