Activities of the Hydrobiology Laboratory of Western Caspian University

The Hydrobiology Laboratory of Western Caspian University is a specialized research and educational facility focused on the study of aquatic ecosystems and biodiversity. The laboratory investigates the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of inland and coastal water ecosystems, as well as the diversity, distribution, and ecological status of aquatic organisms. The main research areas include the analysis of biological indicators of plankton, benthos, and nekton organisms, the assessment of anthropogenic impacts on ecosystems, and the biomonitoring of water resources.

The laboratory is equipped with modern instruments and equipment, such as microscopes, water analyzers, oxygen and pH meters, plankton nets, and sampling tools, which enable precise and high-quality analyses in this field. Students and researchers gain practical skills in the laboratory and conduct scientific research on current issues related to the protection and sustainable use of aquatic bioresources. The Hydrobiology Laboratory also plays a significant role in strengthening the universitys educational and scientific capacity through the organization of ecological training, seminars, and field research.
