Arif Alizada was born on November 9, 1956, in the village of Arbatan, Salyan district. In 1984, he graduated from the Faculty of History at Azerbaijan State University named after S.M. Kirov (now Baku State University) and began his scientific and pedagogical career that same year. In 1996, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences (PhD). Currently, he is working on his doctoral dissertation (state-funded) for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences. He is presently a lecturer in the Department of History and Philosophy at Western Caspian University.
He is the author of one textbook, one monograph, and multiple scientific articles.
