Education and career information:

Gulrana Mirza Alikhan was born in 1956 in Baku. Gulrena Mirza Alikhan graduated from the piano faculty of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov with honors in 1979. In 2004 she defended her PhD thesis on art criticism at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts. In 1979 she graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatory with an honors diploma and then worked as a lecturer at several music schools and Pedagogical University. Since 1988 she is a member of the Baku Art Center. Associate Professor of Western Caspian University since 2002 and leading researcher at the Institute of Architecture and Art of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. In 2004 she defended her doctoral dissertation on philosophy of art. Since 2005 she is a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan. She is the author of 9 monographs and 140 scientific articles dedicated to contemporary Azerbaijani artists at the order of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan.
