Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor

 In 2000, Aferin Abbasova enrolled in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University, specializing in Psychology, and graduated with honors in 2004. In the same year, she entered the masters program in Social Psychology at the Department of Psychology, Baku State University, and completed it with honors in 2006. She then joined the postgraduate (PhD) program in Social Psychology at the same department in 2006.    Since 2007, she has worked as an hourly-paid instructor at the Department of Psychology. In 2013, she began working as a lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Law at Western Caspian University. In 2017, she successfully defended her dissertation on the topic “Socio-psychological Features of Political Trust in the Modern Era” and was awarded the academic degree of PhD in Psychology.    Between 2020 and 2022, she served as the head of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Sociology at Western Caspian University. Since 2024, she has held the position of Dean of the Faculty of Psychology.   Aferin Abbasova has presented scientific papers at various international and national conferences. She is a co-author of two methodological manuals, the author of fourteen curricula, and has published twenty-six scientific articles and theses. She has supervised nearly twenty-five masters dissertations.

Doctor of Philosophy in Psychological Sciences, Professor

In 1997, he graduated from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology of BSU with a bachelors degree in psychology, and in 1999, he graduated with distinction from the masters degree. In 2004, he defended his candidates thesis on the topic "Psychological analysis of the process of self-awareness in adolescents". Since 2000, he has been working as a research assistant in the "Experimental Psychology" scientific research laboratory of BSU, and since 2008 as a senior research assistant. He is working on scientific research on the topic of education and personality, self-awareness and self-realization of personality. He has participated in various international scientific and practical conferences. He is the author of 3 books and 53 scientific articles. From 2006 to the present, he is the scientific secretary of the Dissertation Council on Psychological Sciences. In 1993-1997, he received a bachelors degree from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology of BSU, and in 1997-1999, he received a masters degree in psychology from the same faculty. 2004, psych.e.n "Psychological analysis of the process of self-awareness in adolescents". 2000, Researcher, 2008, Senior Researcher. 2000-2008, Researcher, Experimental Psychology Laboratory "ETL". 2008 - Senior Researcher. PhD in Sociology

In 1991, Vusal Abdullayev enrolled in the Faculty of History and Philology at Nakhchivan State University, specializing in History, and graduated in 1996. Beginning in 1997, he started his pedagogical career at the Department of Philosophy and Humanities of Nakhchivan State University. In 2011, he defended his dissertation on the topic “The Democratization of Society and the Unity of Intellectuals Socio-Political Activity” at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and was awarded the degree of PhD in Sociology. From 2003 to 2018, he worked as a senior researcher and head of department at the Scientific Research and Training Center on Labor and Social Problems under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Since 2019, he has been serving as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Law at Western Caspian University. Vusal Abdullayev has presented scientific papers at various international and national conferences. He is the author of fourteen curricula and sixteen scientific articles and theses.

PhD in Psychology

Reyhan Ahmadova enrolled in the Faculty of Psychology at Baku Girls University in 1996, specializing in Psychology, and graduated in 2000. In 2002, she was admitted to the masters program at the same faculty and completed it in 2024. In 2017, she defended her dissertation titled “Features of Professional Self-Awareness of School Psychologists” and was awarded the degree of PhD in Psychology. Her professional career began in August 2001 at Secondary School No. 199 in Yasamal district. In 2005, she continued her work as a Researcher at the Institute of Educational Problems. Since 2011, she has been employed at Western Caspian University as a lecturer, and since 2023, she has held the position of Associate Professor. Reyhan Ahmadova has presented scientific papers at various international and national conferences. She is the author of fourteen curricula and sixteen scientific articles and theses.

PhD in Philosophy

   Akhundov Piri Farhad oglu was born on October 6, 1979 in Salyan district. In 1986-1997, he studied at the secondary school No. 1 of the village of Khalaj in Salyan district. In 1997-2001, he continued his education at the Faculty of History of Ganja State University. In 2001-2002, he served in the military. In 2007-2009, he received a masters degree from Nakhchivan State University. In 2010-2015, he worked as a teacher, senior teacher, deputy dean, and assistant rector at the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University. During his work at the department, he chaired the student scientific association called "New Generation". In 2012-2016, he was a dissertation candidate at the Institute of Philosophy of ANAS. He is a Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy. In 2016-2019, he received a second higher education in management at the Azerbaijan University of Technology. In 2015-2021, he worked as the Head of the Education Department at the Azerbaijan University of Technology. At the same time, he was a substitute associate professor at the Department of Social Sciences and Multiculturalism with a 0.5 staff unit. Since 2021, he has been the head of the Center for Organization and Management of Education at the Western Caspian University. At the same time, he is a substitute associate professor with a 0.5 staff unit as a philosophy teacher. He was a participant in the “3TP: Senior Leaders Programme 2019” project at the Ahmedabad Management University in India. From November 03 to December 01, 2018, he participated in training based on the “Introduction to Multiculturalism” and “Azerbaijani Multiculturalism” educational programs. He is the author and co-author of about 20 scientific articles, one textbook for two subject programs. He has participated in various international conferences. He is a member of the New Azerbaijan Party. He is married and has two children.

PhD candidate

In 2011, Azer Gasimov was admitted to the Faculty of Theology at Baku State University, majoring in "Arabic Language Translation," and graduated with a bachelors degree in 2015. In 2016, he was admitted to the masters program in "Islamic Studies" at the same faculty and successfully completed the program with honors in 2018. In 2021, he was admitted to the doctoral program in "History and Philosophy of Religion" at the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology. Since 2021, he has been serving as a lecturer at the Department of Philosophy and Law at Western Caspian University. As of 2024, he has been teaching at the Department of Psychology and Social Work at the same university. He has presented scholarly papers at various national and international conferences. He is the author of one teaching program and eight academic articles and theses.

Lecturer

Arzu Vagif qizi Gadizada  was born on November 20, 1998, in Port-Ilich, Lankaran region. She completed her secondary education from 2005 to 2016 at Secondary School No. 236 in Baku. She earned her Bachelors degree in Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology of Baku State University from 2016 to 2020. From 2020 to 2022, she pursued her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Baku State University. Between 2018 and 2022, she gained professional experience at Psychiatric Hospital No. 1, the Mental Health Center, and Soul Psychology Center. From 2022 to 2023, she worked at the Republican Clinical Hospital. In 2023–2024, she served at Baku State University, and since 2024, she has been a full-time lecturer at Western Caspian University.

Lecturer

I, Billurə Babayeva, was born in 1991 in the city of Zaqatala. In 2008, I graduated from the school I attended and was admitted to the Faculty of Psychology at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University. I graduated from this university in 2012. I began working during my third year of studies. While I was in my fourth year, I worked as a psychologist at the Republican Childrens Library named after Firidun bey Kocharli. There, I provided guidance to parents who came to borrow books, informing them about age-appropriate books that would spark their childrens interest in reading and be beneficial for their development. I also engaged in discussions with children about the books they had read, contributing to the development of their critical thinking skills. Later, I worked for six years as a psychologist at Secondary School No. 3 in the Aliabad settlement of Zaqatala. Alongside my school duties, I conducted individual sessions and group therapies with both adolescents and adults. With the goal of deepening my professional knowledge, I moved to Baku and studied Clinical Psychology at Western Caspian University from 2021 to 2023. I am currently continuing my career as a lecturer at the same university. During my clinical psychology studies, I also worked as a psychologist at Zangilan School No. 3. In 2015, I completed a ten-day internship with a psychiatrist, and in 2022, I underwent another three-month internship in the same field. That same year, I also conducted consultations for four months at a narcological dispensary, working with individuals suffering from substance addiction. I have worked as a psychologist in various psychological centers. Since 2019, I have been conducting online psychological sessions, which I continue to offer alongside in-person sessions. In addition to psychological therapy, I also conduct ThetaHealing sessions. Two of my articles have been published.

Elgul Agharzayeva enrolled in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University in 2009, specializing in Psychology, and completed her bachelors degree in 2012. In the same year, she was admitted to the masters program in Social Psychology at the Department of Psychology, Baku State University, graduating with honors in 2014. That same year, she began working as an hourly-paid instructor in the Department of Social Psychology at the same university. She worked there from 2012 to 2015 and subsequently continued her career in various private and public institutions. Between 2015 and 2019, she served as a Human Resources Manager at Vealaser Clinic. From 2019 to 2021, she worked as a specialist in the Administrative Department of the Military Publishing House under the Ministry of Defense. Between 2021 and 2023, she held the position of Specialist in the Human Resources Department at the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population. Additionally, since 2021, she has served as an Evaluating Expert for the “Yüksəliş Competition” project organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Since 2023, she has been employed as a full-time lecturer at the Department of Psychology and Social Work at Western Caspian University. Elgul Agharzayeva has participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences and trainings, including those organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross, Israels Ariel University, Istanbul University, among others. She is the author of five scientific articles, one thesis, and one translated book.

In 2017, she enrolled in the "Regional Studies of Central and Eastern Europe" program at the Faculty of "International Relations and Management" at Azerbaijan University of Languages and completed her bachelors degree at the same faculty in 2021. In 2021, she was admitted to the masters program in "Social Work in Various Fields of Life Activities" at the Department of "Philosophy and Social Sciences" at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University and graduated with honors in 2023. In the same year, she started working as a full-time instructor at West Caspian College. Since 2024, she has held a teaching position at the Department of "Psychology and Social Work" at West Caspian University. She has presented scientific papers at several international and national conferences and is the author of six scientific articles and theses.

         In 2005, she entered the "History" specialty of Baku State University and graduated with a bachelors degree in 2010. In 2015, she scored 48 points as a result of the MIG exam and worked as a History teacher at the Orujlu village secondary school in Imishli district from 2015 to 2024. In 2022, she entered the masters degree program in the specialty "Social work in various spheres of life" of the Department of "Social Work" of Azerbaijan University and graduated in 2024. In the same year, she began working as a teacher at the Department of "Psychology and Social Work" of the Western Caspian University. She is the author of several scientific articles and theses.

Panahli Mahira Ilgar gizi was born on March 23, 2000, in Baku. She received her secondary education at the Turkish Religious Foundation Baku Turkish High School from 2010 to 2017. She completed her bachelors degree in Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University between 2017 and 2021 as part of the SABAH groups. She earned her masters degree in General Psychology from Istanbul Aydın University between 2021 and 2023. In 2022, she received Family Counseling training at Marmara University. During her university years, she participated in various local and international training programs and conferences. From 2018 to 2023, she worked as a psychologist at Medina Medical Center, the Institute for Psychological Research, and the SABAH Center of Baku State University. In 2023–2024, she continued her professional activity at the Central Customs Hospital, and since 2024, she has been working as a psychologist at Medera Hospital and as a full-time lecturer at Western Caspian University.

In 2010, was admitted to the Faculty of Psychology at Moscow State University and graduated in 2014. In the same year, entered the Masters program at the Department of Developmental Psychology at Moscow State University and completed it in 2016. Since 2021, has been working as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Social and Educational Psychology at Baku State University. Since 2022, has held the position of lecturer at the Department of Psychology and Social Work at Western Caspian University. Has presented scientific papers at a number of international and national conferences.

In 2012, she enrolled in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology at Baku State University, specializing in Social-Psychological Services in Education, and graduated with a bachelors degree in 2016. In 2018, she was admitted to the masters program in Family Psychology at the Department of Psychology, Selçuk University, Republic of Turkey. In 2022, she successfully defended her thesis titled “Investigation of the Relationship Between University Students Dating Violence and Parenting Styles” and was awarded the academic degree of Uzman – Master of Science. Between 2017 and 2018, she worked as a psychologist at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics. She served as an expert at Azerbaijans first roundtable on “Modern Family Models in Psychotherapy.” Since 2019, she has worked as a psychologist at the Turkish therapy platform “Evimdeki Psikolog.” In 2023, she began working as an hourly-paid instructor at the Department of Social and Pedagogical Psychology at Baku State University. The same year, she joined the Department of Psychology and Social Work at Western Caspian University as a lecturer. Sabina Bayramova has presented scientific papers at various international and national conferences.
