Goal 12 : Responsible Consumption and Production
“Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns”
We provide 4 modules in the bachelor and master programs where our local and foreign educators provide high quality education with a modern curriculum and more than 200 students have the opportunity to choose these modules. During these programs we aim to enhance our students’ theoretical knowledge within classrooms and implement practical skills on the field.
What we are doing
The Sustainable Procurement Guidance provides a menu of sustainability risk mitigators and added value options for including in tenders/contracts, including in relation to demand management and product efficiency, as is relevant and proportionate to the contract in question. Western Caspian University considers the Sustainable Development Goal of “Responsible Consumption and Production” as one of its core principles. The University operates in accordance with sustainable consumption and production. Food is produced on the farm of the University and consumed by students and staff. In addition, we have used
Moreover, we closely cooperate with leading government organization Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and local Non-Governmental Organization Independent Consumer Union in order to increase awareness in the University and society. We constantly have publicly open webinars and seminars with our partners on this topic.
Furthermore, Western Caspian University publishes an annual report on Sustainability where we share our university’s vision, ambition and works that have done by us for sustainability.
