Goal 5 : Gender Equality

"Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls"

Teaching

We provide 3 modules in the bachelor and master programs where our local and foreign educators provide high quality education with a modern curriculum and more than 500 students have the opportunity to choose these modules. During these programs we aim to enhance our students’ theoretical knowledge within classrooms and implement practical skills on the field.

What We Are Doing

Since the first day of our existence, protecting and promoting gender equality has been one of the essential policies of the Western Caspian University. We encourage female students via Scholarships and prospective female employees to apply to the University and be part of our family. Because of our successful approach, we are one of the leading universities, not just in the country but also in the region. We boast gender ratios for staff of (51%-49%) and for students (50%-50%).

In order to avoid gender equality violations at any level, we ask every member of the university community to remain loyal to our values. As a University, we monitor ongoing processes and accept complaints through the Vice Chancellor for Social and Humanities, through the Gender Research Center, the Human Resources office and through the Legal Departments. Any substantiated violations are punished under the University Codex and the national laws of the Azerbaijan Republic.

The Gender Research Center of the University regularly has webinars, seminars and publications on gender equalities which are pen to the public.

The Gender Research Center  is pursuing research excellence through discovery science and applied research in gender issues.
