The bachelor's degree in Philosophy is a multidisciplinary visual curriculum that explores the philosophy shaped by Western and Eastern civilisations, and instills critical thinking and personal philosophical insights. As students master the depths of philosophy, they also gain extensive knowledge of traditional humanities. The course equips students with skills in critical reading, analytical thinking, and clear and fluent expression of ideas.

Students gain in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills in social philosophy, ontology, cognitive theory, ethics, aesthetics, individual freedom and responsibility. To earn a degree, students must complete a pre-diploma internship and defend a dissertation.

Outcomes

  • Proficiency in oral and written communication in Azerbaijani
  • Communication skills in at least one foreign language in the specialty
  • Basic research skills in the field of philosophy
  • Knowledge of philosophy and its main functions, categories, principles of development.

Job Opportunities

Graduates work as analysts, mainly in government agencies, local governments and various institutions regardless of the form of ownership. In addition, graduates may function as specialists/consultants in any field, organisation, department, enterprise, institution, ministry and committees within the social and humanitarian sphere, as well as agencies and research/think tanks regardless of their affiliation.
