Caring for a person is sacred! A social worker is a person who can really change society, improve people's social welfare and quality of life. A social worker helps a person discover his potential. Social work improves society.

Social work is a practical professional and academic program that promotes social change and development, social cohesion, and increases people's ability to function independently and be free in society. The principles of social justice, human rights and respect for diversity are at the heart of social work.

The social work program is based on the social sciences and humanities, theories of special knowledge and envisages the participation of people in solving their life problems and improving their well-being.

One of the important functions of a social work specialist is to help people avoid various risks and threats of the modern world, to help them build a way of life, to activate the power and potential of those in need. The efforts of the social worker are aimed both at improving the living standards of the individual and at achieving the social welfare of society as a whole. A social worker works to change the social environment and improve the situation in society. All this allows the social worker to feel the importance of his profession and fill his life with high meaning.

In today's volatile world, with economic crises, wars and terrorist threats, social work is becoming increasingly important for people in all countries. The population, especially its most vulnerable groups, cannot withstand the difficulties of our time independently. The main goal of a social worker is to help people and ensure their employment.

Social work is a relatively young profession in Azerbaijan. In this regard, the exchange of knowledge and experience in the form of joint research, acquaintance and training experience with foreign scientists and practitioners is especially important for both teachers and students.

Today, the skills of social workers cannot be limited to their ability to help people in difficult life situations. The social worker must prevent modern risks, identify the causes of the vulnerability of this category of people, and contribute to the social well-being of various social groups and society as a whole.

Social work today is a field of innovative technologies, creative approaches, career opportunities, and most importantly, social work is a real help to people.

Social work is an activity related to healing. Various social work is medical and social work that contributes to the protection and promotion of physical and mental health (individual, collective, population as a whole) and the achievement of social welfare.
